New Squarespace Feature: Saved Sections

Squarespace just released a new feature for 7.1 that allows you to reuse individual page sections throughout your website - with a click of a button!

If you’ve been using Squarespace 7.1 for any of amount of time, you probably know that you can duplicate any section of a page to reuse on the same page. But what if you want to duplicate a section to use on another page?

With Squarespace’s latest feature release, now you can! Let me show you how:

How to duplicate a section to another page in Squarespace:

Step One: Save the section you want to duplicate

Click “Edit” on your page to access your page editor, and scroll to the section that you’d like to duplicate. Hover your mouse over the upper right corner of the section until the section settings appear. Here, you’ll see a “heart” icon. Click that to save this section.

Step Two: Insert the saved section on another page

Navigate to the page where you’d like to place the duplicated section. Click “Edit” on the page and scroll to the place where you’d like to insert the duplicated section.

Click “Add Section,” then “My Saved Sections.”

Locate the section you saved in step one, click it, and voila! Your saved section will appear on the page as a duplicate of the original section.

Step Three: Swap out the duplicated content (if needed)

Now all you have to do is swap out the existing content if you need to. Since you duplicated a section that was previously designed, you can skip the work of formatting, which will save you so much time in the long run!
