Therapist Website Feature: Spark Relational Counseling
May (Yiding) Han, LMFT is a Marriage and Family Therapist, based in Beaverton, Oregon, working virtually throughout Oregon, Washington, and Illinois, where she provides individual therapy and couples therapy.
May customized the Bridge Squarespace template without any prior website design experience, and created something that resonates and represents her practice! I love how she created a completely new color palette with shades of green and yellow that stay consistent throughout the site. I’m also a big fan of her logo (what can I say? I love line illustrations!).

Your name + credentials: Yiding Han (Professionally known as May Han, LMFT)
Your website URL: www.spark-counseling.com
Where in the world are you located? I am a Chicago transplant to Portland, Oregon :)
What do you love about the work that you do?
I work primarily with individual adults and couples on issues around relationships and stress management. I particularly enjoy working with adult children of immigrants, helping them reconcile the intergenerational hurt and cultural differences from coming from an immigrant family, and with high achieving womxn who have a hard time forming healthy long-term relationships. I am passionate about helping people break through destructive internal and interpersonal patterns to empower them to better enjoy life and build the loving relationship they deserve.
Which Hold Space Creative template did you purchase?
Bridge Template
Why did you choose this template?
I like the clean line and the retro-inspired color palette ( It inspires me when customizing my own color palette!)
I like that the template is versatile enough to accommodate the future expansion of my service and practice.
I don’t have a lot of pictures to start with. I like that the template can accommodate that and at the same time has the potential to accommodate more in the future.
What prompted you to choose my templates over others?
I have browsed through a few other template designers and their products, but Monica and Hold Space creative’s product stand out because they seem to be keeping mental health therapists in their mind when designing templates. For example, most other designer templates feature a product photo with small texts complementing it. However, as a service-based provider, I emphasize being able to convey my specialty, service, and trustworthiness clear to my clients via words, with excellent design and photos to supplement it.
Hold Space’s templates take consideration of that, and their font size is big and clear enough for people to read while also offering space to insert pictures to complement the words. I like it a lot.
How did you feel about your previous website or the website building process before purchasing a template from Hold Space Creative?
I didn’t know anything and felt a bit intimidated by it. I was never trained in my graduate school with any of the web development courses, and I have always thought you need to know how to write codes to do it.
How do you feel now that you've published your new website?
I feel very good! Accomplished and proud :)
How would you describe the process of using a Hold Space Creative template (from purchase to publish)?
I feel very well taken care of. Monica did a great job of including a starter manual along with the website template. It has everything (tutorial on customization, SEO checklist, things to consider before publishing your website, etc) you need from start to finish.
In addition, I feel very grateful for the solid customer care support they offer. Anna, their customer care specialist, is a wizard. She is responsive, knowledgeable, and so thoughtful. Always get back to me, helping me with tools to achieve my vision. Thank you so much!
What do you hope your new website does for you and your private practice?
I hope my new website can communicate a modern, calm and hopeful vibe to my visitors and become an essential part of my private practice.
Is there anything else you'd like to add?
For fellow therapist folks: Designing a website is not as intimidating as it sounds, especially with the help of a knowledgeable, caring team. If you dare to imagine and try things out, Monica and her team will be there for you, offering tools and instructions to help you get to where you want to go.
